Beastlings

Beastlings are Beings in Avo which are sapient but also closely resemble non-sapient animals in the world. Many are exoplanar creatures who made their way to Avo, while others are possibly normal animals given sentience long ago.

Aarakocra

Aarakocra are bird people, originally from the Plane of Air. There are a few enclaves of aarakocra in Yonavi, particularly on the large island of Honn. They mainly keep to themselves, protecting the Tree of Breeze, located near the mountains.

Harengon

Harengon are rabbit people who live in southwestern Deneshae and the surrounding Yonavi islands.

Kenku

Kenku are raven-like bird people who were cursed with the inability to fly or speak. They were supposedly created by Veren to handle the transmission of secrets, and live(d) primarily in Teveren and parts of eastern Morentar prior to Alrenn’s destruction. Those who survived now live entirely in Morentar.

Lizardfolk

Lizardfolk are most often found in Morentar and the Yonavi Islands. They tend to keep to themselves, though they are a known enemy of the tabaxi in Morentar.

Minotaur

Minotaurs are incredibly rare and most exist in Deneshae as pseudo-beastlings or in the depths of ancient ruins and dungeons, protecting them.

Owlin

Owlin are owl people descended from owls in the Feywild. They live in Deneshae and along the northern Yonavi islands and typically keep to themselves.

Pangolars

Sweet and wise, pangolars are pangolin people who live quiet, hidden lives primarily in the eastern Yonavi. They have terrible eyesight but make up for it with thick armor plates and innate access to primal magics. They are kind but prefer to be alone, and their warrens are difficult to find.

Porcines

Smart and crafty, porcines are pig people who hail from southern and central Deneshae. They have built an empire as shrewd businessmen (businesspigs?) but tend to cower from even a little intimidation, relying on their smarts to get them out of sticky situations. Many towns and villages in Deneshae are governed by porcines.

Rhinaurs

Large and imposing, rhinaurs are rhinoceros people. They are huge, bulky creatures with great horns on their heads. Their favorite pastime is crashball, a game they invented millennia ago which has recently caught on among new visitors to Deneshae.

Tabaxi

Tabaxi are cat people whose home is Morentar. They don’t really exist anywhere else, but have a vast and impressive empire throughout Morentar. Of all the beastlings, they are the closest to becoming Beings, but their aloof nature about being titled anything by humans or elves makes updating the Charter impossible.

Tortle

Tortles are turtle people who live primarily in the more temperate islands on Yonavi. They are usually affable and kind, and are excellent story tellers. Many Storybearers in the Islands are tortles.
