Certain monsters within Avo and the Material Plane are known to be the creations of the titans themselves. These titanous monsters were likely part of the first generation of world creation in the Material Plane, who survived being wiped out prior to the next generation.

Astral Dreadnought

[edit | edit source]

The Astral Dreadnought is a creature trained by the gods to pursue beings unnatural to the Astral Sea and destroy them, or sever their connection while in the Astral Sea. No one is sure why the titans made them originally, and though Covoran stated that they were “pets for the Destroyers,” it is generally assumed that he was being sarcastic. When the gods created the Prism, they made it to specifically encompass the Inner Planes, leaving the Astral Plane as part of the Outer Planes. Over the millennia the dreadnoughts were trained by the gods to act as a preventative measure against interlopers.

Atropal & Empyrean

[edit | edit source]

These are not titan creations, but creations of the gods inspired by the titans. When the titans created the Humanoid, it was only a matter of time before the gods attempted to create life as well. The results are either the atropal, or the empyrean. Atropal are grotesque creatures made by gods who came into contact with Entropy, which thus forever corrupted their ability to make life. Empyreans, on the other hand, are beautiful creatures made by gods whose planes are touched by the light of good. They lack the mortality of the Humanoid, however, as they are celestial beings. As such, either of these are not technically titans, though the empyrean likely looks similar to how the original Humanoid looked.

Kraken

[edit | edit source]

Kraken are enormous underwater squid creatures and one of the first underwater creations by the titans. Due to their immense size and insatiable appetite, kraken often dominated the seas of early worlds, causing them in turn to die from starvation, before the Arbiters were able to make these worlds more habitable. Thus, some worlds have living kraken, while others have only the bones of long dead ones.

Tarrasque

[edit | edit source]

The tarrasque was the first creature made by the titans. According to Covoran, it was literally made as a pet, and only a few were created before they realized how terrifyingly powerful they were. Like the krakens, they devastated worlds, consuming everything in sight. However, the Destroyer titans thought the tarrasques were perfect and refused to destroy them. As a last ditch effort, the titans imbued the tarrasques they had created with an unnatural slumber, forcing them to sleep for decades or centuries before rising with a tremendous hunger.
