The Black Hand Syndicate was a crime syndicate stationed out of Jamafar in southeastern Teveren, during the end of the 4th era and beginning of the 5th (Dorian Reckoning). While usually engaged in piracy, smuggling, drug trade, and clandestine mercenary work, their claim to infamy was helping Novius Dorian obtain the artifacts he required to become Alrenn—unbeknownst to them. Novius used the Black Hand exclusively during his rise to lichdom, and would convert his favorite mercenaries into undead troops to serve him for eternity. Whim, Sacross, etc, are all old Black Hand mercs. == Notable Beings == Gotar Çestro. Gotar was a human from Ogoni who acted as the face of the Black Hand, dealing primarily with the shuff trade but also hiring mercs. He was a large, rotund man, jovial but keen. He died in 5e133 of a heart attack. Byron Bellwinder. Halfling Storybearer. Hired by Gotar to follow the Black Hand party and effectively spy on them, while also recording their deeds. == Mercs == [Note: these are player characters.] Shiner Gnock [deceased]. Died 29 Broadspring, 5e124. Shiner was a gnome ranger who died in Salacremetre attempting to search for Alrenn’s phylactery box. Teper Het [deceased]. Teper was a human fighter. Quill Diamondew [left]. Quill was an elf Moon Circle druid who left the party shortly after discovering they were a bunch of idiots who were going to get themselves killed.
