== Avo: A 5e D&D Campaign Setting ==
Hi! This is a wiki for my 5e D&D campaign setting, Avo. It's mostly a place to cobble together all my notes and things from playing for the past few years, into a place where information, lore, and characters are easily accessible. But maybe you like to read about some rando D&D world! If so, this is the place for you.

Since a lot of these began as notes scribbled into a giant Google Doc, my plan is to post those first and then flesh them out. Entries from my notes will be categorized as such, and when they are fleshed out, I'll just remove the "Notes" category.

== Our Heroes ==
No D&D game is complete without adventuring parties, and hoo boy do we have a lot of 'em. These are all of the known adventuring parties in Avo, including some that were only NPCs.

=== Future ===
[https://avo.miraheze.org/wiki/Planescape Planescape] - During the Divine Wrath, Ilmari, Nyril, Poppy, and Sahar are trapped in Sigil as the Lady of Pain has gone missing and all portals are closed. They track her last whereabouts, finding one open portal, and step through, finding themselves in a strange, warped version of the Material Plane where they discover that the Lady of Pain is the "last contingency" for creating balance in the Multiverse.

[https://avo.miraheze.org/wiki/Onion_Cave_Avengers Onion Cave Avengers] - In the future, Berrian, Lock, Poqwi, and Wysastina become embroiled in attempting to find the Divine Drops, and also, unwittingly, jumpstart the Divine Wrath, which ends the world of Avo as they knew it. (Also they all die except for Poqwi, who ends up becoming a demigod after consuming two divine drops.) Operated 4271 VR.

[https://avo.miraheze.org/wiki/Dragerron Dragerron] - Bula and Glendower from the Dragonslayers are visited by two beings from the world of Eberron: Baratani and Hule. Operated 4091 VR.

[https://avo.miraheze.org/wiki/Dragonslayers Dragonslayers] - Aalari, Bula, Glendower, and Talmuq. Arguably the greatest adventuring party of the Redfang Guild. Operated 4081-4088 VR.

[https://avo.miraheze.org/wiki/Rogue_Wave Rogue Wave] - Aldor/The Hand, Brenna, and Jayadwen. Aldor and Jayadwen were originally members of the Redfang Guild who were teleported to Deneshae, where the ended up staying in for some time, before finally resting at Roka Keep in Valwyr. Operated 4081-4085 VR.

[https://avo.miraheze.org/wiki/Feywild_Four Feywild Four] - Dren, Enna, Magnanimity, and Umara. Originally members of the Redfang Guild, they were transported to the Feywild, where they unwittingly essentially created the Shadowfell. Oops. Operated 4081-??? VR.

[https://avo.miraheze.org/wiki/Team_Undead Team Undead] - In 4082 VR, another Redfang Guild group, Derrick, Fehrys, and Silva, are tasked with clearing the undead from Old Garrod, but are then unwillingly conscripted by the death knight Whim to secure an artifact called the Worldcutter, which is located on the island of Modur. Do they succeed? Probably not, since they are never heard from again.

[https://avo.miraheze.org/wiki/Modur_Adventures Modur Adventures] - In 3983 VR, the wizard Zartax terrorizes the city of Fallsword on the island of Modur, by making a giant hole in the ground that keeps releasing monsters. Bynona, Hazmat, and Shah-Sin decide to fix things but don't, because they are never heard from again.

[https://avo.miraheze.org/wiki/Peasant_Quest Peasant Quest] - in 3980 VR, Boris, Franky, Jane, and Roondar begin receiving visions from the legendary Ruenat, a group of powerful adventurers who are in the process of becoming petrified due to arch liches. They aid the adventurers with the help of Dorias Halfhander, go on adventures, and free the Ruenat, allowing them to destroy the liches. They end their group in 3982.

[https://avo.miraheze.org/wiki/The_Brightswords The Brightswords] - In 3932 VR, Atticus, Calrissian, Krobb, and Myrtha (but really the latter three) form the Brightswords, an adventuring party in Valwyr. The party exists in some form or another until 3978, when all party members disappear after defeating a blue dragon.

[https://avo.miraheze.org/wiki/The_Expeditioners The Expeditioners] - In 3782 VR, Guidance, Vall, and Yarjeran, part of the Krosven Expedition into the Veldt, are tasked with finding the group's ''actual'' heroes, the Lost Four, who have gone missing.

[https://avo.miraheze.org/wiki/Black_Hand/ Black Hand/]Bearcats - in 3399 VR, Novius Dorian hired the Black Hand Syndicate in Jamafar to retrieve items needed for his ascent to lichdom. They fail and are slaughtered, and then Novius's brother, Erlighein, hires his own team (who call themselves the Bearcats) to obtain the items before Novius. They also fail.

[https://avo.miraheze.org/wiki/Alric_Metselaar Alric Metselaar] - A single party adventurer. In 3058 VR, Alric discovered the divine drops and began to steep them in arcane magic, creating a cult of the Grandfather.

== A Note on Time ==
Everything on the wiki, with one exception, is referenced within the [https://avo.miraheze.org/wiki/Calendar Avonian] year 4100 VR (Valwyr Reckoning). This is the "current" year for the purposes of record keeping of the wiki (and would, should I ever publish this, be the year for the campaign guide). However, some articles may reference times before or after 4100 -- for example, the [https://avo.miraheze.org/wiki/Ages_of_Avo Dawn Era] takes place much later in history, and the [https://avo.miraheze.org/wiki/Black_Hand Black Hand] game took place in the past.

For the sake of my own sanity, '''unless otherwise noted''', the wiki is written as if in the year 4100 VR.
